Wychwood announces BBC Introducing Stage line-up

Wychwood Festival has confirmed most of the line-up for the 'BBC Introducing...in Gloucestershire' stage.

BBC Introducing Stage
BBC Introducing presenters from BBC Radio Gloucestershire and the six surrounding regions, including BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Oxford, BBC Radio Wiltshire and BBC Radio Coventry & Warwickshire each submitted 10 emerging acts that they are currently championing on their stations.

These 70 bands were uploaded into a bespoke Facebook application to be judged by the Wychwood going public, as well as BBC 6Music's Tom Robinson, Wychwood Festival Director Graeme Merifield and The Independent's Music Editor Elisa Bray.

Today the 27 acts (there's one still to be named) that will make up the BBC Introducing...in Gloucestershire line-up have been announced.

From BBC Gloucestershire are George Montague, Harbour, Pink Crudge Caravan, and The Flex.

Added by BBC Hereford & Worcestershire are A Poetic Yesterday, The Black Acid Band (TBC), I am Ryan, and one more.

From BBC Coventry & Warwickshire are Satsangi, SixtyFours, Stylusboy, and The Moonshines.

Whilst BBC Bristol provided Duppy Beatz (TBC), Katey Brooks, Phantom Limb, and Rozi Plain.

The BBC Wales supplied Shy and the Fight, Joshua Caole, Heavy Petting Zoo, and Eric Unseen (TBC).

From BBC Oxford come Gunning For Tamar, Half Decent, Secret Rivals, and Wild Swim.

Finally Crash & The Bandicoots, Super Squarecloud, Theo Altieri, and Daine & Myles from BBC Wiltshire.

Bellowhead top the bill on Friday, James are Saturday night headliners, and The Saw Doctors Sunday headliners. Also confirmed are The Cuban Brothers, The Damned, Duke Special, Mahala Rai Banda, Sharon Shannon, Hawkwind, Muha, Dodgy, Fay Hield & The Hurricane Party, Gary J Armstrong, and Urusen, Thrill Collins, Doctor and the Medics, JuJu, The Magic Tombolinos, Howard Marks, Dizraeli and The Small Gods, The Fisherman's Friends, Dhol Foundation, Kathryn Roberts And Sean Lakeman, The Roving Crows, Show Of Hands, Simon Friend's Seismic Survey, Celtish, and more.

For young Wychwooders Cbeebies star Katy Ashworth will be appearing on Saturday at Wychwood, and there will be an opportunity to meet with her afterwards. Plus Nina & The Neurons will be storytelling on Sunday. Over the weekend, stars of Nick Junior, The Bopps, namely Keith Littler and Stan Bopp, will also be entertaining the little ones. Plus costume and activity events include Winnie the Witch, Where's Wally, and Floppy the Dog (from Oxford Reading Tree series).

Authors confirmed for the Literary Festival include Philip Ardagh, Tony de Saulles, K J Wignall, Ian Whybrow, Anna Wilson, John Dougherty, Elen Caldecott, Shoo Rayner, Jamila Gavin, Sally Grindley, Christopher Edge, Karen Langtree, David Lawrence Jones, Jaquie Trajan, and Cindy Jeffries.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £115, weekend disabled (2 for 1) tickets are priced at £115, youth (aged 16-18)/concession weekend tickets are priced at £95, 10-15 year old weekend tickets are priced at £55 and those under 5 can attend for free but need to be accompanied by a grown up.

General camping passes (charged per person) are priced at £20 for an adult weekend/disabled camping ticket, a weekend youth/concession camping pass is priced at £10, with those aged under 16s able to camp with grown ups for free.
