US pop punk veterans Cartel lead the latest acts announced for Slam Dunk the twin event held over this year's Spring Bank Holiday held on Saturday 26th May at Leeds University and then at University of Hertfordshire on Sunday 27th May.

Slam Dunk will also welcome emo rapper MC Lars back for a second year, with US pop punks No Trigger, and Heartsounds. Plus the UK's own Decade, Save your Breath, and the UK debut of US power pop stars It Boys!.

The twin festival of rock, metal, punk, emo, ska and everything in between will have seven stages of music, with the event running from 3pm until 11pm, with the aftershow again running till 3am.

Bands announced so far include an exclusive appearance by Taking Back Sunday as headliners, plus Architects, Every Time I Die, Cancer Bats, Set Your Goals, Make Do And Mend, The King Blues, The Blackout, Motion City Soundtrack, Say Anything, Hit The Lights, The Story So Far, Lower Than Atlantis, While She Sleeps, Of Mice & Men, Don Broco, The Word Alive, For The Fallen Dreams, I See Stars,Upon A Burning Body, Mayday Parade, Forever The Sickest Kids, and The Audition, with many more yet to be announced across seven stages. Over 40 bands will play the two 5000 capacity dates in May which will have seven stages of music this year, with the event running from 3pm until 11pm, with the aftershow again running till 3am.

The festival of rock, metal, punk, emo, ska and everything in between Slam Dunk returns once again, this time as four events. Saturday 26th May at Leeds University and the day after at University of Hertfordshire in London on Bank Holiday Sunday 27th May, before moving on to Cardiff University on Monday 28th May, and concluding at Glasgow's O2 ABC on Tuesday 29th May 2012.

There will be more announcements to come from the world of pop punk, rock and punk over the coming weeks. Tickets have been frozen at 2011 prices, and are priced at £32.50 or £36 with aftershow.
