After a year out to expand The Big Tent Festival, Scotland's leading environmental green festival, returns to Falkland, in Fife, on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July 2012, with The Proclaimers announced to headline on Saturday. Further headline acts are expected to be announced in the coming months.

The Big Tent is a family friendly affair that hosts two stages of music as well as a range of talks, demonstrations and activities that engage festival goers of all ages with the ecological opportunities and challenges that face society today.

Organised by the Falkland Centre for Stewardship, Big Tent is one of many initiatives pioneered by the organisation that is recognised as the focal point in Scotland for raising awareness of the values and practices of Stewardship. These values are reflected in the Centre's themes of food and farming, wood and landscape, people and craft.

Helen Lawrenson, Centre Director at Falkland Centre for Stewardship said, "This is another very exciting headline announcement for us as our music programme really starts to take shape. The reputation of the festival, its outstanding location and the friendliness and warmth of Big Tent fans means that we can secure the very best artists to come and play at the event. Our music programme is full to the brim this year with top level artists and we can’t wait to confirm our other acts appearing at Big Tent this year.

"We are also working hard on all the other areas of the festival making sure that we can deliver a diverse, exciting and unique programme of activities that will entertain, inform and engage our festival fans."

An adult (age 16 & over) weekend pass is priced at £50 excluding camping. Two adult tickets including camping are priced at £150. Up to two children under 16 are admitted free when accompanied by a responsible adult. Additional children's tickets are priced at £5 per day. A campervan ticket is priced at £25.
