exclusive: Bellowhead join James as headliners at Wychwood

eFestivals can exclusively reveal that Bellowhead will be headlining the opening night of Cheltenham's Wychwood Festival.

The 11-piece contemporary folk band formed by John Spiers and Jon Boden will deliver their mix of folk, jazz, classical, disco and world music from the main stage on Friday 8th June.

They lead a raft of new additions to the line-up on the main stage that includes The Cuban Brothers who also appear on the opening night, whilst appearing on Saturday are Thrill Collins, Doctor and the Medics, and Juju.

There are also more acts confirmed for the Big Top which plays host to The Magic Tombolinos on Friday, Howard Marks on Saturday, and Dizraeli and the Small Gods on Sunday.

James have previously been announced as Main Stage headliner on Saturday. They join a line-up that includes The Fisherman's Friends, Dhol Foundation, Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman, and The Roving Crows. Over the coming months there will be lots more acts announced for Wychwood's four stages including the headliner for Sunday. The family-friendly, intimate and inclusive festival which offers a blend of world, roots and contemporary music, alongside comedy, workshops, and more aims to build on the success of the first seven years, and will return to Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June in 2012.

The Comedy line-up will include Robin Ince, and special guests. For young Wychwooders Cbeebies star Katy Ashworth will be appearing on Saturday at Wychwood, and there will be an opportunity to meet with her afterwards. Over the weekend, stars of Nick Junior, The Bopps, namely Keith Littler and Stan Bopp, will also be entertaining the little ones.

An adult weekend ticket is priced at £115, weekend disabled (2 for 1) tickets are priced at £115, youth (aged 16-18)/concession weekend tickets are priced at £95, 10-15 year old weekend tickets are priced at £55 and those under 5 can attend for free but need to be accompanied by a grown up.

General camping passes (charged per person) are priced at £20 for an adult weekend/disabled camping ticket, a weekend youth/concession camping pass is priced at £10, with those aged under 16s able to camp with grown ups for free.
