eFestivals can exclusively unveil the Trowbridge Festival, an annual family friendly festival which has sprung up hoping to fill the void left by Trowbridge Village Pump Festival which was cancelled last year due to cash flow problems.

The 5,000 capacity new event offers a weekend to relax with friends and family, taking place from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th August 2012 at the rural location of Vagg's Hill Farm, near Trowbridge, in Wiltshire.

Peatbog Faeries, Monster Ceilidh Band, Rory McLeod, Sheelanagig, and RSVP are the first headlining acts to be announced for the event which is organised by people who have worked - and played - at many festivals over the years, including the old Trowbridge Village Pump Festival. The new spacious site is just up the road from the old one at Stowford Manor.

The West Country festival will offer local food, beers and ciders, local acts from the South West, local arts and local traditions, as well as a multitude of acts from the rest of the country and indeed the rest of the world. There will also be lots of activities & entertainment for children and young people, good food and markets, dancing, open mics, sessions, dressing up, choir, art, workshops, and much more.

Festival organisers stated, "Trowbridge Festival is about 'music with Roots' which means British & World Folk, and so much more: Acoustic, Blues, World Fusion, Afrobeat, Americana, Ska & Roots Reggae, Bluegrass, Swing, Old School R'n'B, New Orleans, Gipsy, Klezmer, Hot Club, Rockabilly, Bhangra, Nu-Folk, Anti-Folk, Wyrd Folk, Trad Folk... From morning till night, whether you want to get up and get down dancing, or sit down and experience a more traditional vibe."

"The West Country is home to some of the best festivals in the world, so come and experience how the folk in the West throw a party. Join us in serious contemplation of local food, beers and ciders!"

An adult (aged 16+) weekend ticket is priced at £95 for a weekend ticket. Tickets for 11-15 years olds and students (a valid student ID card is required when collecting your armband) are half price. Children aged 10 or under are free but must be accompanied by a ticket buying adult. There's also a group booking saver where if buying 10 adult tickets one of them is free.
