Meadowlands
Friday 1 June until Sunday 3 June 2012
Location: Glynde Place, Glyne, East Sussex

Cost: Early bird weekend tickets are priced at £60 for adults, a teen (aged 13-17 years) weekend ticket is priced at £30, a child (aged 6-12 years) weekend ticket is priced at £15, with children aged 5 and under able to attend free of charge. A car parking ticket is priced at £15, and a campervan ticket is priced at £30.

Meadowlands offers a diverse selection of performers, musicians and DJ's plus comedy and spoken word, 'home-cooked' food, a dedicated childrens arena and nappy changing area, street traders, bars, a restaurant serving Sunday lunch, light shows and interactive entertainers, luxury toilets, cafe bar in the comedy tent (with cabaret style seating), free camping and more.

Harlequin Fayre
Friday 10 August until Sunday 12 August 2012
Location: A farm near Norwich, East Anglia

The weekend is entirely powered by the sun, wind and peddle power as the focus is on all things green with music, crafts, and stalls. It's very child friendly, and there's plenty for the adults too - from organic beers to bands, poetry, cabaret, speakers, comedy, cinema, walkabout theatre and more.

Location: near Cheltenham Gloucestershire

There is a wide selection of music at the festival including something for every taste - featuring rock, metal and indie to folk, pop, DJs, and the downright strange. More than 80 live acts will entertain thousands of music fans for two days of music on four stages, plus comedy, DJs, headphone disco, value food & drink, and a trader village.

Bakewell Music Festival
Friday 10 August until Sunday 12 August 2012
Location: Bakewell Showground, Bakewell, Derbyshire

The 'all weather' festival hosts a Main Stage tent and a smaller Acoustic Stage tent on the 40 acre showground in the market town of Bakewell. This musical weekend will have bands representing all genres of music from Rock, Blues, Acoustic Latin, Country, Folk , Jazz and Bluegrass. Fire in the Mountain

Cwmnewidion Isaf (Valley of Change) is an old stone farm set in the foothills of Cambrian Mountains below the Elan Valley. The farm is home to Fire in the Mountain, a small "folk festival on the farm", a place where folk artists from across the UK, Ireland and the world can meet and make music.

Nozstock The Hidden Valley

Linton Music Festival

This three day festival is set in a natural amphitheatre at the back of the Alma Inn providing a combination of music, beers and food.

Blissfields
Friday 29 June until Sunday 1 July 2012
Location: Winchester, Hampshire

Cost: An adult ticket is priced at £65 for the weekend with camping, £42 for those aged 5-15 for the weekend with camping, children aged under 5 are free, there is no separate tariff for those not camping. No under 16's to camp unless accompanied by an over 21 years of age. Campervan tickets are priced at £35. There will be a £10 charge made on arrival for all vehicles, excluding those with valid campervan/caravan pass. Thursday night camping is available for an extra £15 (for those already with weekend camping tickets or Friday day tickets).

Location: Calbourne, Isle of Wight

Starting at mid-day each day the event is full of off stage entertainment for all the family. The event offers all day and evening entertainment, in nice surroundings. Youngsters will find lots to do in the Children's orchard next to the healing area with numerous market stalls close by selling everything from didgeridoos to hand made jewellery.

Galtres Festival
Friday 24 August until Sunday 26 August 2012
Location: Crayke, near York, North Yorkshire

Cost: Early bird adult ticket is priced at £45, child (aged 5 -17 years) tickets are priced at £22.50, a family ticket (2 adults and up to three children) is priced at £135. Add camping from £10 to £40 depending on size of tent.

Expect a full programme of entertainment on five stages of music and cabaret, loads for kids to do. Music ranges from chart-topping bands to local emerging talent. There’s also comedy, theatre and offbeat performances at the night cabaret, films, a beer and cider festival, and family camping.

Y-Not Festival
Friday 3 August until Sunday 5 August 2012
Location: Mouldridge Lane, Pikehall, Matlock, Derbyshire

Cost: Expect around £70 for the weekend.
This three day festival steers away from sponsorship and high prices. The festival attempts to have an intimate nature, with many of the bands camping with festival goers, and friendly stewards. Late night entertainment includes a dance tent, or camp fire singalongs and there will be real ales and local ciders available.

Stainsby Festival
Friday 20 July until Sunday 22 July 2012
Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Cost: Tickets are priced at £70 for the weekend. Youth tickets for those aged 12 to 17 years are priced at £20. Kids under 12 years old get in free if accompanied by an adult.

Every summer for the past 44 years, this tiny hamlet comes alive to the sound of live music run by unpaid volunteers as a not-for-profit charity. Other attractions include children's entertainers, music workshops, drumming sessions, Morris Dancers, healing circle, craft stalls, singers' competition, singaround, Arabic dance workshop, fire shows, real ales, and wicker structures. Dogs are welcome at Stainsby.

Beacons Festival
Friday 17 August until Sunday 19 August 2012
Location: Funkirk Estate, Carleton, Near Skipton, North Yorkshire

The family friendly Beacons Festival offers three days of live music as well as a cinema programme, children's entertainment, spoken word, theatre and more. The festival offers easy access by rail.

Bearded Theory
Friday 18 May until Sunday 20 May 2012
Location: Kedleston Hall Park, in Derbyshire

Cost: Tickets are now on sale with a weekend ticket priced at £74, 13-16 weekend tickets are priced at £40, 6-12 weekend tickets are priced at £25, children aged 5 and under are free and Family Tickets are priced at £190 (2 x adult & 2 x children). All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The family friendly event is laid back, and has a traditional festival feel, offering a weekend with beards, bands and DJs across six stages. Expect to find workshops, on-site art work, world foods, solar cinema, open mic, large children's area, and more.

Solas Festival
Friday 22 June until Sunday 24 June 2012
Location: Wiston, Lanarkshire, Scotland

Cost: An adult weekend ticket is priced at £75, An adult concession weekend ticket is priced at £45. Youth weekend ticket (for ages 12-17 years) are priced at £25. Children aged under 12 can attend free but still require a ticket.

Solas Festival aims to create a generous, hospitable space in Scotland where the arts can be performed and enjoyed by festival-goers of all ages in a safe environment. National Adventure Sports Show
Friday 6 July until Sunday 8 July 2012
Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset

Cost: expect around £75 for a weekend with camping for anyone aged over 16. Ticket for children aged 8 - 15 years around £45. Kids under 8 go free. Tickets are not yet on sale.
For those who want to mix extreme sports and music, bringing together Extreme and Street Sports, including displays and competitions from skateboarders, snowboarders and BMX bikes, by presenting bike and board sports platforms along with live music entertainment on Friday and Saturday. The Acoustic Festival of Britain

Location: Uttoxeter Racecourse, Staffordshire

Now in it's seventh year the festival offers four stages of unplugged and acoustic music covering live folk guitar music, country music, bluegrass, with a few legends (Joan Armatrading has been confirmed), and some tribute acts. The festival also has stalls, craft displays, juggling schools, workshops, soccer skills, cinema, food hall, breakfast café on camp site, comedy hour, a buskers stage, a real ale tent, fair trade, children's area, camping, a tipi circle, flushing loos, and more.

3 Wishes Faery Fest
Friday 15 June until Sunday 17 June 2012
Location: Mount Edgecumbe House and Country Park, Torpoint, Cornwall

Cost: expect around £89 weekend with camping.
The family friendly festival "celebrating the wonderful world of faeries" has guest musicians and bands, a faery procession (on Saturday), a faery craft market with clothes, head-dresses, wings, wands, arts and fairy goodies, and a Fairy Art Exhibition.

Run to the Sun
Friday 1 June until Monday 4 June 2012
Location: Porth, Newquay, Cornwall

Held in Newquay, Cornwall's surf and party capital, RttS is three energetic days of mainly DJs, plus some live music, comedy and acoustic sessions across five arenas including the return of the silent disco, and more.

BoomTown Fair
Thursday 9 August until Sunday 12 August 2012
Location: Nr. Winchester, Hampshire

Cost: early bird adult weekend £85, plus £5 eco bond deposit – on sale 1st November.
The main stage line-up will consist of ska and party bands from around the world, with the other live music stages offering cabaret, gypsy, folk, reggae, dub and country and western. Plus loads of cabaret, comedy, spoken word, a range of stages, an anarchist theatre, lots of site art and many areas to explore with plenty of catering options, all the normal facilities you'd expect at a festival and a massive emphasis on eco-friendly initiatives.

The family friendly Wales International Storytelling Festival is held in the grounds of a fairytale castle by the sea, and offers music from Wales and the World, with storytellers, epic singers, musicians, circus performers, puppeteers, street theatre artists, films, fire shows and dancing.

Limetree Festival
Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August 2012
Location: Lime Tree farm, near Grewelthorpe, North Yorkshire

Cost: Expect an adult ticket for around £85 (including camping, Junior (aged 5 - 17) tickets around £25, and under children under 5 can enter for free. A campervan ticket is priced around £35.
Limetree festival has an eclectic mix of performers, from northern soul to indie, to electro house & everything in between. The festival will have 2 stages of music, comedy, arts and film with an old school vibe with a kids zone and queer space as well as a dedicated chill out field complete with pagan stone circles healing area, and a contemplation pool.

Knockengorroch World Ceilidh
Thursday 31st May to Sunday 3rd June 2012
Location: Knockengorroch farm, Carsphairn, Kirkubrightshire, Scotland

The independent music festival and themed summer party, Standon Calling, returns to the grounds of a 16th Century Hertfordshire manor house and promises a unique chance to see some hotly tipped acts, in an intimate festival setting. There are no acts announced yet for 2012. Standon are taking it back to the old school by opening on Friday night with a rave.

Croissant Neuf Summer Party

Location: near Usk, Monmouthshire

Every aspect of the festival takes green issues to heart, from the organic nibbles and tipples sold at the stagger Inn to the recycling team and the Big Top that is powered entirely by solar panels without compromising on sound quality. With creative solutions such as planting 3 trees on site for every car that travels to the festival. Solfest

Location: Tarns, nr Aspatria, Cumbria

A non-commercial music and arts festival offering something for everyone, with a main stage, dance tent, second stage with many smaller acts, and a children's area with workshops to amaze, educate and keep both kids and adults busy throughout the day.

Wychwood Music Festival
Friday 8 June until Sunday 10 June 2012
Location: Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire

Cost: Early bird adult weekend £100, youth (aged 16-18)/concession weekend tickets are priced at £82, and 10-15 year old weekend tickets are priced at £45. Children aged 5-9 years able to attend for free, but need to be accompanied by a grown up, and those under 5 can attend for free. Camping passes (charged per person) are also discounted for the limited period offering an adult weekend camping ticket for £10, a weekend youth/concession camping pass is priced at £5, under 16s free.

Shambala Festival

Now in its twelfth year, this great family friendly festival promises four days of fun, with a large kids area, masses of workshops, woodland antics, crazy carnivals, roaming theatrics, and everyone in fancy dress. Trowbridge Festival

This brand new family friendly and grown-up friendly festival offers late night fun running hand in hand with roots music. Trowbridge Festival offers a weekend to relax with friends and family, with local food, beers and ciders, local acts from the South West, local arts and local traditions, as well as a multitude of acts from the rest of the country and indeed the rest of the world. There will also be lots of activities & entertainment for children and young people, good food and markets, dancing, open mics, sessions, dressing up, choir, art, workshops, and much more.

Kendal Calling

Location: Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe, East Cumbria

Offering well known acts, acoustic acts, chill out area, and late night DJs, and festival entertainment.

Fairport's Cropredy Convention
Thursday 9 August until Saturday 11 August 2012
Location: Cropredy, nr. Banbury, Oxfordshire

Cost: expect around £90 for the full weekend
An annual well attended four day festival of folk and rock music held on the edge of the village of Cropredy, and run by Fairport Convention. Tickets prices are not yet confirmed.

Weyfest
Friday 31 August until Sunday 2 September 2012
Location: Tilford, Farnham, Surrey

Cost: expect around £95 for three days with camping, not yet on sale.
The festival is run over three days with three outdoor stages plus an indoor acoustic stage. There's also workshops, and on-site camping. There's a vast range of real ales, ciders, lagers & wines all at reasonable prices.

The Green Gathering
Thursday 2 August until Sunday 5 August 2012
Location: Piercefield Park of Chepstow, Monmouthshire

Cost: Adults around £90, teens (12-16) £50, with free entry for children (under 12. Car parking is priced at £20, and caravan/campervan passes £35. Not yet on sale.
A family, camping event, for approximately 5000 people for a period of 4 days. Tickets are not yet on sale. Note if coming by car this event is over £100. An environmentally and ethically conscious event. Alongside the music the Gathering showcases future technologies, alternative ways of life and sustainable lifestyles.
