The Ravonettes, and James Yorkston for new Pure Festival

The Raveonettes and James Yorkston top the first acts announced for a new music and whisky festival, Pure Festival which takes place at The Garage, in London on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2011.

The line-up for the Main Stage on Saturday will be The Raveonettes, Electric Soft Parade, and Charlie Waller. Whilst James Yorkston, Smoke Fairies, and Kassidy are confirmed for Sunday.

Topping the Upstair Stage line-up on Sunday is Steve Mason, with Martin Rossiter, Heart Kill Giant, and Roxanne de Bastion also confirmed for that day. The day before the stage will play host to Shake Tiger Shake, and The Ray Edwards Group.

Further acts will be announced as part of collaborations with music labels, Fierce Panda and Rockfeedback.

Included in the ticket price is the chance to sample and learn about single malt whisky, blended whisky and Bourbon. Whiskies on offer include single malts such as Ardbeg and AnCnoc and premium blends such as Whyte and Mackay. Whisky writer, Dominic Roskrow will also be on hand to give festival goers a chance to try some of the World Whisky Masters medal winners, featuring hard to find whiskies from around the world.

Whisky sampling will take place between 4pm and 7pm at which point the music will start across two rooms at The Garage. Festival goers will be able to move at their leisure from one distiller's stand to another, sampling whichever whiskies they wish to taste. Pure aims to educate people on Whisky in a fun and informative way and the festival is a unique opportunity to sample a number of fantastic whiskies in a relaxed, informal setting.
