eFestivals can exclusively reveal that Boomtown Fair have bagged ska heavyweights Bad Manners as the Saturday night headliners making a 2011 UK exclusive show at this summer'’s festival.

Bad Manners
Bad Manners formed in 1976 while the members were at school together and are fronted by Buster Bloodvessel. They were popular during the late 1970s and early 1980s, a period when lots of similar ska bands filled the charts. Some of their hits include 'My Girl Lollipop', 'Lip Up Fatty', 'Ne Ne Na Na Na Na Nu Nu', 'Special Brew', 'Lorraine' and 'Just A Feeling'. Buster saw to it that Bad Manners name went down in the ska history books with his outlandish, larger-than-life, huge tongued & shaven-headed iconic presence.

Buster's exploits got them banned from the TV chart show Top of the Pops (which included dressing as Henry VIII and singing to a blow-up doll for the song 'Lorraine', pouring a large can of baked beans over his head, and dressing in a can-can dancer's dress to promote their single 'Can-Can'). They were also banned from Italian TV when Buster had decided after a particularly successful concert that he should moon the crowd, having been told that the Pope was watching on TV! This is a band that well and truly lives up to their name and reputation.

Bad Manners will be joining a line-up of some of the best, ska, reggae, gypsy, Balkan, jungle, drum and bass and much, much more! With the likes of Gogol Bordello, Babylon Circus, Capleton, Barrington Levy, DJ Zinc and Toddla T making up just a few names on the huge cross-section of stages, Boomtown really is an eclectic, beat heavy, spectrum of genres with something for everyone. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Now in its fifth year Boomtown Fair takes place at a secret location, less than 1 hour from London over the weekend of Thursday 11th until Sunday 14th August 2011.

This year also sees Boomtown open for the first time opening its gates on a Thursday for festival goers to get their Boomtown bearings whilst enjoying a light sprinkling of musical entertainment in a selection of the smaller venues on the outskirts of the town.

A weekend ticket is priced at £93 for four days with camping. An adult full price deposit ticket is priced at £47 - the balance must be paid in full before 31st July. A teen 4 day weekend ticket (ages 13 - 17 inc) is priced at £50. To buy tickets, click here.

The festival also offers loads of cabaret, comedy, spoken word, a range of stages, an anarchist theatre, lots of site art and many areas to explore with plenty of catering options, all the normal facilities you'd expect at a festival and a massive emphasis on eco-friendly initiatives.
