Jools Holland and the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra is the first act to be announced for the 21st anniversary Larmer Tree Festival line-up.

Larmer Tree Festival regular Jools Holland and the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra is back again on Wednesday 13th July to kick off the event's 21st year to get the 120 hour Larmer Tree party started. Joining Jools and his 20-piece band of superb musicians and vocalists will be a special guest who will be announced early in the New Year.

James Shepard (Festival Founder and Co-Director) said, "I'm really excited to welcome Jools back to kick-off our 21st festival. His show on our opening night has gradually become part of the local social calendar and it always gives me a huge amount of pleasure to see the Larmer Lawns buzzing with Larmer party-goers ready for a fantastic festival!"

Jools Holland who has opened the show in style since 1998 added, "The Larmer Tree is magical. There's something about the trees – you can see them growing… the music gets their boogie muscles twitching."

An early bird (until 4th January 2011) adult weekend ticket is priced at £190 for all 5 days, £156 for 4 days, and £125 for 3 days, there are Youth (age 11-17), and Child (age 5-10) options also available. Day tickets are priced from £31 to £58 dependant on day. Larmer Tree ticket prices include free parking and camping for tents, caravans and campervans and under 5's are free.

Larmer Tree Festival balances leading names in music and comedy alongside a programme of theatre and art for festival goers of all ages. An intimate crowd of only 4,000, five family friendly days of eclectic music, street theatre and workshops set in the spectacular backdrop of Larmer Tree Gardens, in Dorest with its resident peacocks and macaws. The dates for the 21st birthday of this festival of acoustic folk and world music, but also roots, blues, jazz, Americana, reggae are confirmed as Wednesday 13th to Sunday 17th July.
