Fatboy Slim confirms himself for Glastonbury Festival 2011

playing in Shangri La

Thursday 8th July 2010

Festival regular Fatboy Slim has confirmed he will be performing at Glastonbury Festival in 2011.

Fatboy Slim
The superstar DJ revealed his appearance at in a reply to a question posed by Vic on the Ask Norman part of Fatboy Slim's official website, here Norman Cook reveals he will be at the Festival in 2011.

His reply states, "Hello vic, sorry I didn't get this until I got back from Glasto. I didn't get there until Friday coz I flew straight from the world cup in South Africa. I hope you caught me in the dance tent on Friday night coz my 'guerilla' gig didn't happen on Saturday. It was supposed to be a sound system by the bandstand but the security got wind (as did too many people) and they closed us down because of crowd safety. It's a shame, next year I'll go back up to Shangri La and play one of the more recognised systems like Arcadia. I hope you enjoyed the sunshine. What a classic Glasto that was!"

Registration is open for those wanting a ticket for Glastonbury Festival which runs for five full days from Wednesday 22nd until Sunday 26th June across 1,000 acres of beautiful countryside at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

Everyone who plans to the come the Festival must register, and that includes children aged 13, 14 and 15. Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if you plan to buy tickets for friends or family you must make sure they all register!

Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket when they go on sale some time in October, exact date to be confirmed, but if you don't register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2011. If you opt to save this information you will be able to use your registration number again in future years. Make sure the e-mail address you provide is one to which you will have long term access.

Those who registered in 2008 need to re-register as the details were only kept for two years. Those who registered in 2009 or 2010 were offered the chance to save their details - if you did so, your existing registration number is still valid. If you did not opt to have your details saved, then you will need to register again this year.

If you want to check what your registration number is, or when your registration is valid until, click here.

Online registration can be carried out by clicking here.

IMPORTANT: make sure you tick the box which allows you to 'Save your registration details for future years'.

There is no limit to the total number of people who will be allowed to register. Registering more than once will not increase your likelihood of getting a ticket. Every registration will have an equal chance of buying tickets irrespective of how or when it was made during the registration period. Registration can be made on behalf of other people as long as all their contact details and photos can be provided. If you live outside the UK you still need to register online.

If you have not received a confirmation email within a day of having made an online application, please check your spam folder. If your registration is rejected you can re-apply.

Ticket purchasing will require each buyer to input their name and their unique valid registration number for each ticket they purchase. Tickets will be sent out by courier to the addresses specified when making the sale, and if ordering more than one ticket, all tickets will be dispatched to the address provided during registration for the first name on the ticket booking.

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2011 are not yet on sale, and the prices have not yet been confirmed. The on sale date is expected to be sometime in early October. We'll bring you the details once they are confirmed.

Glastonbury Festival will play host to more than 2,000 performances at 50 or so venues including music, cabaret, theatre, circus, and also has a fantastic Kids area, poetry, green crafts and information and loads, loads more.

No acts are confirmed as yet, but as usual eFestivals will bring you the very best-sourced rumours, allowing festival-goers to see who is playing long before the bands are formally announced - keep your eyes on the Glastonbury 2011 rumours, updated as we receive information.
