last remaining tickets on sale today for Glastonbury Festivalupdated: all tickets SOLD OUT within 2 hoursSunday 11th April 2010 The final few thousand tickets to this year's Glastonbury Festival went on sale at 9am today, and had all sold within two hours.
Glastonbury organisers wanted to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that are produced in 2010. One of the biggest contributions comes from how ticket holders travel to the Festival - in fact, audience transport contributes to two thirds of the Festival's total emissions. A coach travelling to the Festival at full capacity is the most carbon efficient way to arrive. Travelling by coach produces 6.02kg of co2 per person. By comparison, trains produce 28.40kg/person and car/campervan 37.77kg/per person. Choosing to come by coach really is the greenest way to travel to Glastonbury. (If you do come by car, please try to make sure it is full of passengers to help reduce cars on the road and emissions.) Registration and the look up service was disabled during the ticket resale (in order to relieve pressure from Seetickets' website). Everyone eligible to purchase tickets will have been sent an email which includes a reminder of their registration number and postcode. Registration will open again from 9am on Monday 12th April 2010. Each purchase must have been matched with valid registration numbers. If ticket holders are unable to attend the Festival, they can get a refund before midnight Friday 7th May. Those wanting a refund must contact Seetickets at glastonbury@seetickets.com, or telephone 0844 412 4626. A £10 administration charge will be retained from all refunded tickets. Any attempt to sell on tickets, will result in them being cancelled. The ticket price includes includes a FREE programme, a useful cloth bag, and small around the neck guide. Car parking tickets can be bought at any time and are priced at £15 per vehicle. Tipis, that can each accommodate up to 6 adults, are available to book for hire. The price to hire a tipi from Wednesday 24th – Monday 29th June inclusive is £820. Tipis come complete with groundsheet and raincatcher, along with free use of the solar showers and discounted use of the yurt sauna. The first headliner to be confirmed playing on the Friday is U2, and other confirmed acts are Jack Johnson, My Luminaries, and The John E Vistic Experience, plus the (almost) full line-up for the West Holts Stage (formerly Jazzworld).
