Rage Against The Machine and Aerosmith will headline for this year's Download festival.

Aerosmith with Steven Tyler, and Rage Against The Machine have been announced as headliners at this year's festival, which returns for an eighth year to Donington Park.

Joining them over the weekend will be Stone Sour, Billy Idol, 30 Seconds to Mars, Lamb Of God, and Five Finger Death Punch who are all confirmed to play Download festival held over the weekend of Friday 11th to Sunday 13th June 2010.

American rock legends Aerosmith will return to the main stage at Donington Park for the first time in 16 years. They last played as headliners of the Donington Monsters Of Rock Festival in 1990 and 1994, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry et al return this summer as Sunday headliners.

Rage Against The Machine who scored the UK Christmas No. 1 single last year, play Download for the first time on the festival's main stage on Saturday. The band recently announced a free gig in Finsbury Park, London which saw more than 120,000 register for tickets.

Previously confirmed acts include AC/DC headlining on the Friday, with a supporting card including Them Crooked Vultures, Wolfmother, Bullet For My Valentine, Motorhead, Deftones, Stone Temple Pilots, Volbeat, and Megadeth also confirmed. Download Festival is also teaming with Red Bull Bedroom Jam, the weekly live music webcast for young, emerging bands to give eight bands the chance to play at the festival.

Any UK or Ireland-based band can enter as long as they have at least one member who will be under the age of 19 on Friday 11 June 2010. The competition will be judged by a panel that includes Charlie Simpson of Fightstar, Andy Copping, Vice President of Music at Live Nation, and Beckie Sugden from The Agency. Weekend arena tickets with camping will be priced at £170, and a weekend only ticket without camping will priced at £140. Lockers in the campsite are priced at £11 with car parking £10 in advance, £20 on the day. A campervan supplement is £40. There will be an additional £10 charge to enter the campsite either on the Wednesday or Thursday.
