The line-up will also include Múm, Enter Shikari, Mumford & Sons, Bluetones, Amanda Palmer, Andrew Bird, Emiliana Torrini, Foy Vance, and the hugely popular SOMA night. More additions are set to follow in the coming months.
Edge Festival promoter Dave Corbet says, "Last year's Edge festival was a huge triumph, expanding upon the successful formula we established with T on the Fringe. With the festival now in its tenth year, The Edge is an integral part of the Edinburgh Festivals experience, something that is reflected in the quality and variety of acts it continues to attract. This year's Edge line-up is the most diverse yet, bringing together a wide range of different artists, all drawing on an extensive array of influences and musical styles."
This year's Edge Festival also sees a number of new venues added to the roster, including the Edinburgh Playhouse, HMV Picture House, Sneaky Pete's and Studio 24, as well as the welcome return to established Edge locations such as Cabaret Voltaire, Queen's Hall and the Corn Exchange.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of a dedicated popular music programme at the Edinburgh Festival, and takes place across various venues ranging from 250 - 2800 in capacity, from the Saturday 1st until Thursday 27th August 2009, the contemporary music strand to the Edinburgh Festival will feature a phenomenal fifty performances over the festival period with tickets ranging in price.
