New additions have been announced for the arts on offer at this summer's Latitude Festival held in July at Henham Park Estate, Suffolk.

There are new additions to the programme of names bringing the laughs throughout the weekend with Jo Brand, Dave Gorman, Tim Vine, Janeane Garofalo, Stephen K Amos, Phil Nichol, Charlie Baker, Miles Jupp, Matt Kirshen, and Seann Walsh added to the line-up in the The Comedy Arena.

The art of the written word is celebrated in The Literary Arena with more authors and special guests scheduled for a weekend of discussions, Q&As, stories and comic genius with Jeremy Hardy, Jonathan Coe, Kate Williams, Keith Allen, Rupert Thomson, Brian Chikwava, Emmanuel Jal, and Bernie Katz newly announced.

The Cabaret Arena adds to a programme of comedy sketch shows, burlesque, freak shows, drag queens, sing-a-longs, illusionists, and more, with Lenny Beige, Kirsten O'Brien, Bourgeois And Maurice, Tommy And The Weeks, Wanderlust, and Helix Dance.

Concluding the latest art additions to Latitude's programme is a production of 'Say Hi To The Rivers And The Mountains' in The Theatre Arena the new show written by best-selling novelist Jonathan Coe and indie-pop group The High Llamas. The latter will play live on stage, providing a continuous soundtrack as the story unfolds.

They are the latest additions to an extensive bill of acts headlined by Pet Shop Boys on Friday, Grace Jones on Saturday, and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on Sunday. Other acts playing over the weekend include Spiritualized, Magazine, Newton Faulkner, Camille O'Sullivan, Bat For Lashes, Doves, Editors, Gossip, Turin Brakes (acoustic), and Belle & Sebastian (DJ set) and more. Latitude takes place from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th July 2009, with the festival opening it's gates on Thursday 16th July for some limited non-musical entertainment. Latitude festival goers can expect music, art, comedy, film, literature, theatre, performance art, dance, sculpture, workshops, restaurants and waiter service bars.

Weekend tickets are on sale and are priced at £150, day tickets are priced at £60, and a campervan Pass is priced at £10. Children aged 12 or under will be eligible for free tickets for Latitude Festival 2009 when accompanied by a ticket holding adult.
