Chris Cunningham will give a rare live 55 minute performance at this year's Big Chill.

Chris Cunningham the cult music video film director and video artist's performance will combine original and remixed music with brand new videos dynamically edited together into a new live piece spread over three screens.

Joining him will be Hexstatic who will be performing a special 15th anniversary aural and optical performance.

Also confirmed for the festival is legendary cult-artist Sixto Rodriguez best known for his hit 'Sugar Man'. He's performing as part of only a handful of gigs worldwide.

New World music acts include a festival exclusive from reggae and roots legend Max Romeo. Stars of the Ethiopiques series Mulatu Astatke and Heliocentrics are joined by Ethiopian jazz saxophonist Getatchew Mekuria and the ten piece punk band The Ex.

Completing the latest additions are folk-rock-baroque-popper Andrew Bird, Noah and the Whale, and Emmy The Great.

Katrina Larkin co-founder of The Big Chill said, "Chris Cunningham Live is a significant coup for the festival. The eclecticism on offer this year is set to add yet another element of diversity and excitement to The Big Chill."

The Big Chill which happens on Friday 7th until Sunday 9th August at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire offers both families and ravers a diverse range of music including folk, jazz, African, dub, and unique collaborations; as well as art, films, poetry, cabaret, kids spaces, comedy, and literature.

Previously confirmed acts for 2009 include Basement Jaxx, Orbital, and David Byrne, as headliners, with other acts including Gong, Lamb, Magistrates, Alphabeat (DJ Set), DJ Derek, Ska Cubano,Friendly Fires, Norman Jay,Wonky Pop, Ludovico Einaudi, Calexico, Horse Meat Disco, Pharoah Sanders, Favela Chic Soundsystem, Alice Russell, John Hegley, and Summer of Dub. Tickets are on sale, priced at £145 for an adult weekend ticket, teen tickets (13 to 17 years old) are priced at £60, and kid (12 and under) are £4. Live-in vehicle tickets are priced at £50 (per vehicle for the weekend), and car park tickets are £7.50 in advance, more on the gate.
