There's been a host of new acts from around the globe added to the line-up for Brighton's The Great Escape.

Phantom Limb (Jazzworld Stage)
The festival will be showcasing new bands from New Zealand, Australia, Japan, India, Canada, Scandinavia, Europe, Catalan, as well as UK acts.

The new acts just announced include Lawrence Arabia, The John Steel Singers, British India, The Shiny Brights, Cloud Control, I Heart Hiroshima, Gurrumul, Noise-niks, and Riddim Saunter.

Further additions to the line-up include Tucker, Thomas Dybdahl, Swarathma, Indigo Children, Wintersleep, We Are Wolves, Duchess Says, and Ultimate Power Duo.

Other acts confirmed to appear in Brighton include I Was A King, Tommy Tokyo & Starving For My Gravy, Datarock, The Deer Tracks, Dag for Dag, The Bewitched Hands On Top Of Our Heads, Pure Reason Revolution, Naive New Beaters, and Banjo Or Freakout.

Joining them will be Triggerfinger, Black Box Revelation, Cuchillo, Mane, General Fiasco, Racoon, The She Creatures, Adam Freeland, Phantom Limb, The Voluntary Butler Scheme, Villagers, The Tallest Man On Earth, and Tom Allalone & The 78s.

Also confirmed today are Soft Toy Emergency, Smoke Fairies, The RGBs, Riot Lights, Rebekah Higgs, Perfect People, Pocket Lips, Polly Scattergood, and Punch & The Apostles.

There are already many acts confirmed for this years line-up which will see 34 venues play host to over 300 bandsincluding Kasabian as headliners, Lightspeed Champion, Little Boots, Black Lips, Metronomy, Kissy Sell Out, Future Of The Left, The Big Pink, Passion Pit, Micachu And The Shapes, It Hugs Back, Esser, VV Brown, Ben Kweller, Dananananaykroyd, Let's Wrestle, The Chapman Family, Your Twenties, Golden Silvers, and Bell X1. With many more acts to be announced this is just some of the hundreds of international and UK pop, cutting edge, hip hop, electronic, and rock acts showcased at venues all over Brighton from Thursday 14th until Saturday 16th May.

As well as all the international action The Great Escape also has a brand new arena, The Artist Village. Essentially the official back stage area to The Great Escape, The Artists Village is a place where artists and new entrants to the music industry can meet, network and learn.

The Great Escape will be running a schedule of educational panels, workshops and networking sessions. The Fly will also be bringing their FlyTV In The Courtyard sessions to The Great Escape this year. FlyTV In The Courtyard @ Great Escape will see the team take its gonzo DIY-styled homemade music telly to the seaside, with The Fly setting up in The Great Escape's Artist Village to film various artists from the festival line-up playing stripped-down versions of their songs.
