The Zutons, have been announced as the headliners on Red List Live festival.

The Zutons
The Liverpudlian five-piece The Zutonswill headline the Main Stage and the first acts for the Dance Stage have been announced as Scratch Perverts, and Rusko. Festival organisers have also announced an open mic comedy competition with the prize being a chance to appear on the bill at Red List Live with Vic Reeves.
Vic Reeves will host a battle of the belly laughs in the build-up to the festival as he oversees a competition to find an open mic champion. The Shooting Stars funnyman will also be judging the competition and the finalists will secure themselves a slot at the festival with a performance at 'The Pub' – an authentic on-site saloon fit to fill 600 people, with Vic's wife Nancy Sorrell pulling pints.

Festival Director Eddie Hill said, "We're really pleased that more big names are getting behind the festival and its charitable causes. The Zutons will be fantastic headliners, and who knows, with the help of Vic Reeves, we might help uncover the country's next big comedian."

She added, "And with Red List Live coinciding with Father's Day there will be loads to do for the whole family – the festival will be a weekend perfect for dad days out."

The acts confirmed include UK Subs, Conflict, The Dead Pets, The Wombats, British Sea Power, The Damned, The Alarm, LightsGoBlue, Klaus Says Buy The Record, Archie Bronson Outfit, and White Rose Movement, The Undertones, and many more with many more still to be announced.

Early bird tickets are on sale until the end of this month, priced at £99 (for 13 years and older) A child tickets (4-12 years) is priced at £20, and tickets for under 4's are free (Please note ticket still required). Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

The festival is not associated with last year's ZooThousand festival, it just happens to be utilising the same site.

£5 from every weekend ticket sold, and 50 per cent of the profits from the festival will go to the charity. A fund-raising target of £100,000 has been set for 2009, with the festival hoping to help donate £1,000,000 for some of the world's most at risk animals in five years. Red List LIVE will also help raise awareness of the endeavours of the IUCN's Red List of Threatened Species which is widely recognised as the most comprehensive, objective global approach for evaluating the conservation status of plant and animal species.
