Camp Bestival add Phoenix, Will Young, Tinchy Stryder, & more

fancy dress theme is 'Animal Magic', and new installment ticket scheme

Wednesday 18th March 2009

Phoenix, Will Young, and Tinchy Stryder are just some of the latest acts announced for this year's 'Animal Magic' themed Camp Bestival.

Will Young

Phoenix
Joining them will be Mumford & Sons, Crazy P, Baddies, Huw Stephens, Kid Carpet, Alela Diane, Alessi's Ark, Recommended Daily Allowance, Magic Drum Orchestra, Soul of Man, Rev Milo Speedwagon, Johnno, DJ Dan, Cliff Lay & Tosh Ohta, and Quayside Cloggies.

Camp Bestival's fancy dress theme for this year has also been announced as 'Animal Magic'.

Festival organiser Rob da Bank, said, "I think only Camp Bestival could get away with such a riotously diverse set of line up additions: Will Young was a smash at Bestival last year dressed up to the nines in fancy dress so we had to get him back, Phoenix have made one of the best pop crossover albums of this year and I'm so proud to present them at Lulworth and Tinchy Strider is a star in the making and sure to have the kids... and me... bogling like crazy."

"We've also picked the fancy dress theme for Camp Bestival 2009 ... Animal Magic! Read into that what you will... unicorns, bears, elephants, Scooby Doos, Johnny Morris look-alikes and Paul Daniels impersonators will all be very welcome to join our dressing up parade on Sunday afternoon. Roll on July!"

Camp Bestival is also introducing a new ticket payment plan offering a staggered payment system that gives you the chance to spread the cost of buying tickets across three equal payments. Ticket buyers pay a third of the total ticket price with the further two payments spread across the following two consecutive months. This payment system will be a UK festival first. The scheme will be available to families and to individuals buying Weekend Camping tickets, and will be going live from midday tomorrow (Thursday 19th March).

Tickets are available to buy in full now, an adult weekend ticket is priced at £130, with a child ticket (aged 12 to 16) priced at £65, with children under-12 free (but require a ticket), and campervans cost £60 per vehicle. There is a 'Family Weekend Camping Ticket Deal' which offers 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 15 and under tickets with camping for £295.

An adult day ticket (16 years+) with no camping is priced at £45 per day, and a child day ticket (aged 12 to 16) is priced at £22.50, with children under-12 free (but require a ticket).
