Canadian metallers Anvil, say they will perform at this summer's Download.
The veteran rockers last appeared at Donington Park, in Leicestershire at the Monsters Of Rock '82 event 27 years ago. The appearance of the band, who are the subject of a documentary titled 'Anvil! The Story Of Anvil', was confirmed by the film's director Sacha Gervasi today on the 'BBC Breakfast' television show, he said: "After playing Donington Park in 1982, 27 years on, they've been invited back to play Download." The film will be released here this spring 2009.
The first confirmed acts for Download are headliners Slipknot and Def Leppard, joining them over the weekend will be Korn, Dragonforce, Devildriver, Motley Crue, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Whitesnake, Trivium, and Limp Bizkit. For the latest rumours of who might be playing, please click here.
Tickets are on sale priced as follows: a full weekend ticket is priced at £135, camping is an extra £25 (family camping is also available), car parking tickets are priced at £10 advance, £20 on the day, camper vans tickets are priced at £40, and lockers will be £11. Kids aged 12 or under will be eligible for concession rate tickets. These will only be available on the day from the on-site Box Office and there will be unlimited availability.
