Gang Of Four have been announced as the Sunday headliners for Offset which takes place in a forest location at Hainault Forest Country Park in Redbridge, Essex on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August. They join the previously announced Wire, who headline the Saturday.
Gang of Four formed in 1977 and released their debt album in 1979. They went
on to become one of the most important bands in post-punk with the likes of
REM, The Rapture, Liars, Franz Ferdinand and Bloc Party citing the band as a
major influence. Flea of Red Hot Chilli Peppers has stated that Gang of Four
were the single most important influence on his band.
They join a line-up that also includes Young Knives, Chrome Hoof, Ipso Facto, Danananakroyd, Grabba Grabba Tape, O'Children, Make model, Die! Die! Die!, Ulterior, Electricity In Our Homes, Brigade, DDD, Factory Floor, **K, Drumize (DJ Scotch Egg), Lack, Klaus Says Buy The Record, My Passion, Saving Aimee, S.C.U.M, Girlcore, Terry Farley, Dr Nojoke, Dice Club, The She Set, Exp Circ Club. Offset festival comes from the team behind TMF Rock Festival and will have 7 stages of music with a license for 10,000 and over 150 bands and DJs. The stages include a dance tent, new bands stage, an acoustic and rock tent. Stages will be curated by Last.fm, Experimental Circle Club, Club Artrocker and east London's Girlcore collective with live performances and DJs from clubs including; Durrr, Trailer Trash, Get Rude, Boombox and Bugged Out.
Headline bands will finish in time for people to make the tube journey back to London, with the party continuing for campers and those making it back on the night buses.
The festival will also be a full fun fair, organic food, traders village, art and a dedicated kids area.
