Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2008 Glastonbury Festival which takes place over the weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June has revealed more about the festival area known as Trash City which last year included a crashed plane.
This year, it makes a return, only much bigger and brasher, and in a new location, the old Tipi Field. The area will be an apocalyptic dream-world straight from the pages of a 2000AD comic, it's been described as "an intergalactic red-light district where space pirates, bootleggers, illegal aliens and all the scum of the universe can come to party the night away."
Setting the scene is legendary scrap-pile art and party collective Mutoid Waste Co, who've been creating iconic sculptural madness across the globe since the late 80's. This year they will be presenting The Unnatural History Museum, a wonderland of megalithic artwork and animatronic beasties, plus nightly Wacky Races-style mutant vehicle parades and a pyrotechnic outdoor spectacular!
Trash City will also play host to a series of interactive venues, including:
The Dragstrip - Part towering Aztec temple, part biker bar, inspired by Tarantino's 'Dusk 'Til Dawn', showcasing the hottest bands and DJs from the UK Underground plus sizzling burlesque shows! Hosted by apocalyptic showgirl Ruby Blues.
The NYC DownlowT - The world's first travelling Gay disco, a note-perfect replica of a bombed-out New York tenement populated by outrageous Drag Queens and muscle-bound hunks.
The Laundrettas present TThe MothershipT - Half 50's laundrette, half plane-crash, overrun with spaced-out Barbarella babes on a mission to make the world a sparklier place!
Arcadia Installation - Beautiful sculptural installation featuring an avenue of flaming trees surrounding an audiovisual fire-and-ice centerpiece.
Rubbish Fairy - Technicolour den of disorder presenting a multi-media extravaganza of art, music and performance.
There are literally hundred of acts performing at the festival, with the line-ups altering slightly all the time, to see who is playing where over all the stages at the festival in June take a look at the Glastonbury 2008 line-up.

Please note that there will be no editing facility for late registrations, so please ensure that all your details are correct, and that your photo is of a suitable size and standard, before submitting your details. Registration, involves filling in a simple form and supplying a passport photograph, and full details can be found at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk.
The ticket costs £155 for a weekend ticket, plus £5 booking fee per ticket and £4 post and packaging per order. To buy tickets for this year's Glastonbury, you'll need to have pre-registered and have your registration number and postcode to hand, plus the registration number and postcode of anyone else you're buying for. Please not that the deadline for refunds has now passed.
Tickets can be purchased through www.seetickets.com or by phone from 0800 079 2008 for UK buyers and 0044 1159 934 183 for overseas buyers. Overseas ticket purchases can only be made using either Visa or Mastercard credit cards. UK sales will not be accepted on the International Ticket Sales Line, or any other Seetickets telephone lines.
No one other than the above are allowed to sell tickets, and alternative outlets offering them should not be used.
Remember that this year the Festival wants festival-goers to work them to Love the farm, Leave no Trace by travelling light, only bringing what you're willing to carry home. When you buy your tent and camping gear, don't buy the cheapest, get something you'll want to keep. when it's time to go, pack up your stuff and take it away.
