T in the Park which will be happening from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July has confirmed more artists for this year's festival, and that for the first time the King Tut's Tent will be open on the Friday.

The Futureheads will be headlining the opening night with support from Alphabeat, Kids In Glass Houses, and Los Campesinos. Also appearing in the tent are In Case of Fire who play on Saturday and up-and-coming band of the moment Vampire Weekend who appear on Sunday.

Also added to the bill in the slam Tent for Saturday the new additions of Carl Craig, Modeselektor, Dubfire, and The Black Dog have been confirmed.

Elsewhere on site, power-pop Aussie rockers Powderfinger are getting set to join Sunday's Radio 1/NME Stage. Tom Baxter and The Hold Steady who both add to the Pet Sounds Arena's line-up on Saturday and Yeasayer are added to Sunday's Future Stage with retro-soul singer Bryn Christopher appearing on the same stage on Saturday.

T in the Park today also announces that the Sugababes will be unable to take up their Main Stage slot on Saturday 12th July due to the band's scheduling issues.

Festival Director, Geoff Ellis said, "We are obviously disappointed that the Sugababes have had to pull out of this year's T in the Park, but from time to time, it does happen that artist schedules conflict and we are sure that if the girls could be here, they would. We feel that this year's line-up is one of the strongest in the event's history and are sure that T fans will be delighted at the bill which is nearly completed across T's 12 stages."

With a line-up of around 180 artists playing over the 12 stages. Acts who have been confirmed include the headliners of The Verve, Rage Against The Machine, R.E.M., plus Stereophonics, Amy Windehouse, KT Tunstall, Feeder, The Wombats, The Fratellis, The Kooks, Kaiser Chiefs, Kings of Leon, The Prodigy, Primal Scream, Chemical Brothers, Interpol, Ian Brown, The Racounteurs, Biffy Clyro, Counting Crows, The Pigeon Detectives, The Feeling, Hot Chip, The Charlatans, The Pogues, Ben Folds, Reverend & The Makers, Seasick Steve, The Courteeners, Lightspeed Champion, The Ting Tings, and many more, with more still to be announced.
