plus many more new acts for the Brighton festival

The Great Escape Festival The Great Escape 2008

Brighton's The Great Escape Festival has confirmed the addition of The Futureheads and Ting Tings to the festival which is held in over 25 venues within Brighton City Centre from Thursday 15th until Saturday 17th May.

Joining them are a host of other new and rising stars including Kid Harpoon, Rachel Unthank & The Winter Set, Bon Iver, Esser, Ben Ottewell (Gomez), The Strange Death Of Liberal England, Emmy The Great, Eugene McGuinness, Robots In Disguise, Artefacts For Space Travel, Bobby Cook, Cassie & The Cassettes, The Telegraphs, In Case Of Fire, Stricken City, The Rushes, Matthew Sawyer And The Ghosts, I Haunt Wizards, Dash Delete, The Bookhouse Boys, and The New York Fund.

Previously announced acts for the festival line-up include Pete and the Pirates, Bombay Bicycle Club, Cage The Elephant, Jay Jay Pistolet, The Black Angels, Kelley Stoltz, Thomas Tantrum, Satin Peaches, Lovvers, Hatcham Social, The Pack A.D., We Are Wolves, Soko, 4 Or 5 Magicians, The Boxer Rebellion, The Whip, Jeremy Warmsley, Royworld, The Bad Robots, The Boat People, The Dykeenies, These New Puritans, Yelps, No Age, Public Service Announcers, The Black Lips, The Teenagers, The Wombats, Wild Beasts, Young Knives, Black Mountain, Tunng, Fujiya and Miyagi, Peter Von Poehl, School of Langauge, Lightspeed Champion, Torngat and Wintersleep. Weekend festival tickets are on sale, priced at £45. The ticket entitles you to entry to all gig venues over the 3 days. Tickets will need to be exchanged for a wrist band. Wrist band will gain entry to all venues subject to capacity. The Wrist band exchange venue will be printed on your ticket. Day tickets are also available with Thursday day tickets costing £18.50, and Friday and Saturday are priced at £22.50. To buy tickets click here.

As well as the live music at various venues throughout Brighton, the festival also has a number of "Parkinson" style interviews and seminars with luminaries from the world of music and media who impart their experiences.
