Leicester's indie synth rockers Kasabian have been confirmed as headliners for Creamfields on the Sunday. Creamfields will be back this year as a TWO day event taking place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August 2008 (the August Bank Holiday weekend), again at the Daresbury Estate, Halton, Cheshire.
Kasabian are delighted to be headlining saying, "We are made up to be headlining this years Creamfields. We have heard great things about the festival over the years and it is an honour to be asked to headline on it's tenth anniversary. It will be great to bring our sound to a fresh Northern crowd."
Cream CEO James Barton added "It's amazing that even after 10 years Creamfields is still evolving as a festival. I know we say this every year, but this year's line is the best to date and with some real imaginative changes to the format of the show we hope we have laid the foundations for the next 10 years."
Creamfields 08 will be spread over 10 unique arenas and for the first time 'BBC Introducing' will have a stage at Creamfields. The BBC Introducing stage usually plays host to the best new UK artists, nominated by new music shows from across the BBC.
Radio 1 will also be returning to Creamfields in 2008 after a three year gap, to broadcast over 10 hours of live coverage. Jason Carter Radio 1's Editor of Live Music and Events, said "Radio 1 are delighted to be returning to Creamfields as the pivotal dance event in our live music calendar. The station is looking forward to being part of the next chapter for Creamfields as the festival extends across two days, for the first time ever. The fantastic diverse line-up headlined by Kasabian means this year's event looks set to be the best ever."
