the annual search for unsigned musical talent has started Tue 4th Mar 08 The 'Road to V', billed as the UK's biggest search for unsigned musical talent, has started and will finish when the two winning bands will open the V Festival this summer, in Chelmsford and Stafford, on Saturday 16th August. Any unsigned musical act performing original material can register their band and upload their best track at www.roadtov.com from now until Sunday 6th April. All the tracks entered will then be judged by the 'Road to V' panel. 14 bands will then go through to the live stage of the competition playing at either the Carling Academy in London or Liverpool, and each gig will be broadcast during the summer on Channel 4 when viewers will get the vote to decide who will win the chance to open the V Festival. All entrants need to visit www.roadtov.com for full details on how to submit their profile, track demo or video. All members of a group entering must be 16 years old or over and resident in the UK and if they are between the ages of 16 and 18 will need to have the consent of a parent/guardian to be a 'Road to V' finalist. Only one entry is to be made per act. The full terms and conditions for the 'Road to V' are on their website. published: 14:53 (GMT)
