Kate Nash's 'people' have announced that the singer is to open the Glastonbury Festival 2008 which will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, near Glastonbury, Somerset from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June. The festival's gates open for early arrivals on Wednesday 25th June, two days before Nash is to perform as the opening act on the Pyramid stage.
The news appeared in a statement which said, "We are pleased to announce Kate Nash will open this year's Glastonbury Festival, kicking off the Pyramid Stage in style on Friday 27th June. Further UK festival dates to be announced."

Tickets for Glastonbury will go on sale on 6 April, either online or through a free phone call from a normal landline.
