The Dub Pistols, The Beat plus more artists announced Mon 28th Jan 08 The Sunrise Celebration festival has announced the first acts to play at this year's event. The Dub Pistols, The Beat, Mancini, Annie Nightingale, Orchid Star, Subsource, 3 Daft Monkeys, and Nucleus Roots are all booked to play the festival which takes place from Thursday 29th May to Sunday 1st June near Yeovil, South Somerset. Also confirmed to play the festival are: Yes Sir Boss, Sheelanagig, Jono Mckleery Band, Sweet Sweet Lies, Rachel Dadd, Bonze, Folk Stompers (inc. Paul Didge), Lazy Habits, King Porter Stomp, The Common Moral Cause, Freedom of Expression, Queen's English, Sarah Williams White, L-Mo, Works In Progress, Tribal Vibes, Positive Vibrations, ZeJ, and Masdafarai. There are many more still to come (200 in total + 100 DJs) which will be announced over the coming months. Musically, festival goers can expect a blend of dub, world, ska, electronica, dub-step, psy trance, breaks, reggae, folk, Balkan beats provided by rising stars, established favourites and surprise collaborations. In 2007 there was 13 Autonomous Areas; 6 Stages + Acoustic/performance venues, including The Main Arena and EartHeart Stage; Small World; Tribal Earth World Music Stage; ID Spiral Solar Chill; and Spirit Dance. The event is expected to be 100% ecologically powered, with a site-wide organic policy which also applies to alcohol. Tickets for 2008 are on sale now, to buy tickets visit here.
