Jimmy Cliff to play Glastonbury?
reggae legend confirms himself for Friday

Wed 23rd Jan 08

According to reggae legend Jimmy Cliff's website he's playing Glastonbury Festival on Friday 27th June.

Jimmy Cliff, whose hits include 'Sittin' in Limbo', 'You Can Get It If You Really Want', 'Wonderful World, Beautiful People' and 'Many Rivers to Cross' last played Glastonbury Festival in 2003, entertaining a crowd in the sizzling sun. eFestivals is hoping for similar weather this year.

Other acts who have self confirmed for 2008 so far include: Joan Armatrading who confirmed her attendance in her website newsletter and Solomon Burke who, like Jimmy Cliff, has confirmed on his website he was playing. Another act rumoured to be playing according to yesterday's The Times is Leonard Cohen, who has not played live for 15 years, who they rumour will be the headliner on the Sunday. If all this lot all turn out to be true, then you have to wonder will it bring the 'kids' in?

Remember to keep an eye on our Glastonbury Festival 2008 rumours which each year builds into the most comprehensive pre-announcement list of who's playing. If you get to hear of who's going to play, don't forget to let us know by emailing festivals@efestivals.co.uk with the details.

Don't forget that those wanting to buy a ticket to this year's festival will need to register their details at www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk between 9am on Friday 1st February and midnight on Friday 14th March. Tickets will go on sale to those who have registered at 9am on Sunday 6th April.

Glastonbury Festival 2008 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, near Glastonbury, Somerset from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, with the gates opening for early arrivals on Wednesday 25th June.
