Larmer Tree Festival which happens from Wednesday 15th until Sunday 19th July have announced the first acts to play at Larmer Tree Gardens, on the Wilts./Dorset border.

Jools Holland and the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra
Wednesday will see Jools Holland and the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, return again to the festival, this time with special guest Dave Edmunds, followed by the mighty Dreadzone, on Thursday, Radio 2 Folk Award nominees Mawkin:Causley, on Saturday, and Sunday sees the return of Edward II, after a 10 year break, along with The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain, and Texan trio Hot Club of Cowtown.

Other additions to the line-up include Tinderbox, The Travelling Band, The Hats, Moon Music Orchestra, David Celia, The Shee, Megson, Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs, and The Teak Project.

The festival will be revealing the headliners, and many more acts for the line-up in the new year.

Tickets are now on sale, priced at £177 for 5 days, £144 for 4 days, £115 for 3 days, and day tickets priced at £37 to £57 dependant on day. To buy online, click here. The ticket price includes camping for the night(s) of the date(s) of a ticket. Tickets have sold out for the past 14 years, and tickets booked by Friday 19th December will be sent in time for Christmas.

This year Larmer Tree Festival is also giving an extra special Christmas present to one lucky person. Tickets bought before Wednesday 31st December 2008 will be entered into a prize draw to win the cost of the booking back.

The festival generally has a lovely chilled atmosphere, and is child-friendly, all set on a gorgeous site in lovely Victorian pleasure gardens with a free campsite next door, with free showers and well serviced toilets. There's numerous workshops for adults and children, therapy sessions and street theatre are also on offer.
