More acts have been announced for the Big Chill festival which happens next year on Friday 7th until Sunday 9th August at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire.

Basement Jaxx
Joining Orbital on the bill will be dance duo Basement Jaxx, indie-disco-dance hybrids Friendly Fires, the return of 'Good Times' DJ legend Norman Jay, and club night Wonky Pop.

New additions also include composer/pianist Ludovico Einaudi, lo-fi and ambient electronica Arizonian folksters Calexico, club-land hedonists Horse Meat Disco, and jazz legend Pharoah Sanders.

The announcement is completed with other names also confirmed for next year including the Favela Chic Soundsystem, the solo singer from Quantic Soul Orchestra Alice Russell, comedian John Hegley, and On U Sound records' Summer of Dub.

Big Chill Co-Founder Katrina Larkin said of the announcements, "As soon as we'd finished this year's festival, we took a deep breath and vowed to make 2009 even better. We've already secured a fantastic mix of both legends and a new breed of talent, and are really laying down a marker for what to expect, bring on the summer!"

The Big Chill offers both families and ravers a diverse range of music including folk, jazz, African, dub, and unique collaborations; as well as art, films, poetry, cabaret, kids spaces, comedy, and literature.

Big Chill is promising even more fields next year, meaning more campsites, car parks and better facilities too. The new car park layout promises shorter walks from car to campsites.

Tickets for the Big Chill are now on sale, with the option of paying a £50 deposit in December and the balance by Tuesday 31st March 2009.

An adult ticket is priced at £129, concessions £110, teen tickets (13 to 17 years old) are priced at £60, and kid (12 and under) are £4. Day tickets for the Sunday are priced at £65 (per person). There is also a National Express festival ticket & travel: £155 (only available from National Express). Live-in vehicle tickets are priced at £50 (per vehicle for the weekend), and car park tickets are £7.50 in advance, more on the gate.
