Zoo Thousand and Eight music festival which is a new festival in the grounds of Port Lympne Wildlife Park in Kent held from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th July have confirmed The Hives will headline Sunday night.

Joining the Scandinavian five-piece at the wildlife park will be the newly billed artists Gallows, Minus the Bear, Flogging Molly and The Holloways.

Zoo Thousand Director Matt Dice commented, "It's taken us months of negotiations and sleepless nights to get to this stage – but it's all worth it when things come together and you see what a great line-up we've got."

Tap 'N' Tin Promotions (who have a stage at Zoo) and Events Manager Chris Pritchard said: "The Hives are the tip of the iceberg; we've got top acts across the bill over the weekend, meaning our headliners will be supported by some of the best names around."

Headlining the Friday is Mark Ronson with other acts including The Cribs, Athlete, Funeral For A Friend, Young Knives, Bloc Party (Dj Set), Lethal Bizzle, Pendulum (DJ set), Roni Size Reprazent, British Sea Power, Hadouken!, Wiley, The Rascals, Friendly Fires, Chas & Dave, Mitchell Brothers, The Whip, Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Does It Offend You Yeah?, The Rumble Strips, Little Man Tate, Stanton Warriors, MSTRKRFT, Switch, Micky Slim, Goldie, Andy C, Fabio, Dj Excalibah, Bodyrox, Freemasons, Newham Generals, The Hexes, Inner City Dwellers, Fucked Up, Friction, Hazard & Sly, Jungle Drummer & Fu, Alix Perez, Subfocus, Dice & Ruffstuff, Evil Nine, Underground Heroes, Nick Harrison, Marner Brown, Maker, Boa Binga & ID, Kid Blue, Merca, Hana Holland, Small Fry, and Lupen Crook all announced with a headliner expected to be announced sometime in the near future.

The event hopes to raise money for the John Aspinall Foundation, a charity which works to promote wildlife conservation and helps pay the bills on the family zoos and their own endeavours in conservation.
