The Big Chill held Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire which has four lakes, thick woods and an arboretum has announced more entertainment for festival goers attending the weekend from Friday 1st until Sunday 3rd August.

Dance pioneers Bomb The Bass will perform new material and classic cuts in a spectacular audio visual show. Other mew artists announced for the weekend are Fujiya & Miyagi, Little Dragon, Mum, Nina Nastasia, and John Shuttleworth.

Underbelly are providing laughs with the 'Underbelly Comedy Area' which houses a new comedy tent. They have added more top-drawer comedy to a programme headlined by the previously announced Bill Bailey and The Mighty Boosh. The comedians who will be performing include Rob Rouse, Ida Barr, Al Pitcher, Jarred Christmas, Pete Cain, Dave Johns, Ed Petrie, Howard Read, Alistair Barrie, Susan Murray, Jeff Innocent, and Jonathan Mayor.

The Word In Motion tent will host Apples And Snakes - 'Poetry with a bite' with performances from some of the UK's best spoken word artists inclding Robin Ince, and Ben Goldacre.

The BFI present an audio-visual, genre-defyingfilm and music experience in the Media Mix tent including audio-visual collective Exceeda who make a return to The Big Chill with a fresh production and The Light Surgeons.

Big Chill have also released details of their Kids Stuff programme. Violinist Ara Malikian presents 'My First Four Seasons' guiding kids through the classical Vivaldi piece in a highly entertaining way. James Campbell will host a proper 'Comedy Club 4 Kids' with suitable content. Plus, for big and little kids alike, John Hegley has a special show 'Festival Creatures'.

Already confirmed as on the bill are Jilted John, Plaid, Rachel Unthank & the Winterset, Norman Jay, Portico Quartet, Random Dance, and Thievery Corporation have been confirmed with more promised over the next few weeks. Expect a mix of chilled beats from live bands and DJs, plus the media mix, a body & soul area, kids area, workshops, visuals, etc.

New for 2008 are 'The Big Warm' with storytelling and song around campfires; the 'Moonlit Picture House', a late night, outdoor cinema with short and feature films; a comedy tent wiuth a line-up of established and up-&-coming comics; 'Words in Motion' is expanding, bringing more poetry and storytelling; A Victorian Fun Fair; and children's playground within the Family campsite to give little'uns a space to play close to home.

This year, also sees The Big Chill creating spaces for even more art, film, comedy and literature at the festival, with their four partners.

The ICA (Institute of Contempoary Arts) offer festival goers a selection of ICA films and specially-curated art and music collaborations.

Scamp Theatre presents Steve Tiplady's Claytime - Steve Tiplady introduces his acclaimed and unique 'play with clay', where imagination, sculpture and drama fuse to enchant ‘'Little Chillers'.

The famous Camden venue, the Roundhouse, increases the entertainment available by adding performances in the new Roundhouse Big Round Tent, as well as adding a programme of creative projects for 13 - 25 year olds. These include workshops for aspiring musicians, artist and media producers and will be incorporating film, singing/songwriting and MC-ing. Plus, there's the chance to make special radio broadcasts for Big Chill Radio. For young artists there is also graffiti and photography projects. Note, that under 18's must accompanied by an adult.

On-site facilities include a shop selling groceries & newspapers, bars, food stalls, merchandise stalls, cash point machine and a 24 hour cafe amongst other things. Alcohol cannot be brought into the main arena but is permitted in the camping areas (but NO GLASS!).

'Early bird' tickets are available, Individual Adult or Children's (now renamed 'Teen tickets') tickets are available, and live-in vehicle tickets, are also on sale, at the same prices as for 2007.
These prices are:-
Adult: £129.
Student: £110 (with Amnesty International membership, for full-time students only) Teen: £60.
Live-in vehicle: large £80, small £40.
Anyone attending in a live-in vehicle must have a campervan ticket. Awnings are allowed and a maximum of 2 tents with each vehicle. Cars are not allowed in this area.

The venue is a general campsite that has disabled toilets & showers, please contact Big Chill HQ before the event for more information.

No fires or foil BBQs are permitted on site, although BBQs on legs are allowed. No pets allowed. No video cameras allowed. No amped music or sound systems allowed.
