WaterAid at Glastonbury
Mon 11th Jun 07

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2007

WaterAid will once again be making a welcome appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival, with their friendly volunteers looking after all your water and toilet needs, two of life’s little luxuries that are all too easily taken for granted.

You can visit the WaterAid stand next to the Pyramid Stage, grab a refreshing drink of water in-between bands, and join in their call to End Water Poverty, by adding your pledge and thumbprint to their 'giant hand'.

End Water Poverty is a coalition that is demanding immediate action to tackle the water and sanitation crisis. The world is warming up, and water tables are falling, putting strain on already scarce water resources. We need to take action. To find out how we can do this, click here.

For those caught short WaterAid will be supplying African style pit latrines, maintained and manned by their trusty volunteers. These can be found in Kings Meadow. For the ladies there are the revolutionary ‘she-pees’ – female urinals that are located around site.

Look out for the Wateraid 'tap toilet' and 'poo', who will both be making an appearance at the festival, along with the End Water Poverty hand, who will be gratefully hugging anyone who makes a pledge.

WaterAid will also be making an appearance at the WOMAD festival which takes place later this summer. For more details click here.

WaterAid works in 17 countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific Region, working with local partner organisations, helping some of the world’s poorest communities gain access to safe domestic water, toilets, and hygiene education. So far they have helped over 10 million people gain access to these services. All donations are gratefully received; our vital work costs just £15 per head.

eFestivals is pleased to help support WaterAid by making donations to them each year.
