extra fun in Glastonbury's Lost Vagueness field
the StrummerVille bandstand & Chinese Cinema Palace

Wed 30th May 07

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2007

This year at Glastonbury, festival goers will get the chance to perform on stage.

Strummerville, a registered charity that aims to create new opportunities for aspiring musicians, will be presenting the 'Strummerville Bandstand', an open stage fully kitted out with instruments and backing musicians for anyone and everyone who wants to play.

The stage will be situated in the Lost Vagueness field, and as well as open mike acts, will feature bands from the charity’s unsigned bands scheme Strummerville DIY.

Also in the Lost Vagueness field will be the Chinese Cinema Palace, hosted by Future Cinema.

Inspired by the film ‘In the Mood for Love’, this tent will include vintage cinema seats, red coconut matting, red lanterns, old Chinese movie prints, and red lighting. Festival-goers will be able to retire there to watch a programme of international short films and music videos, as well as acts by 19-27 (the company of acclaimed poet Suzanne Andrade), and other theatrical artists. This will be accompanied by performers and atmospheric projections.

The full line-up for Glastonbury Festival will be announced this coming Friday morning (1st June). We will of course have all the line-up information online as soon as it becomes available.

In the meantime check out the latest and very best Glastonbury rumours - no other rumour listing comes close for accuracy. There's new details being added nearly every day, thanks to the excellent eyes and ears of our half-million plus monthly readers. If you hear of a band that's playing, please let us know.

Glastonbury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June (with the gates opening on the Wednesday).
