Glastonbury goes Late 'n' Live
supported by Sustrans

Tue 22nd May 07

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2007

The Late 'n' Live tent returns to Glastonbury Festival this year, showcasing new music from the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent competition, along with other new performers.

The tent is supported by Sustrans, the UK's leading sustainable transport charity. Their vision is a world in which people can choose to travel in ways that benefit their health and the environment. Sustrans’ work with central and local government brings us closer to the transport issues that affect our daily lives, from the health and safety of travel choices to the practical function of the National Cycle Network. They are pioneers in giving youngsters safe and healthy travel options through their Safe Routes to Schools, their Active Travel team work with the health sector to encourage more walking and cycling and their Travel Smart pilot projects are already persuading people to look at alternative ways of getting from A to B. They also have a major public art project - Art and The Travelling Landscape - curating the UK's largest open-air art gallery with practical and decorative works on many of their routes.

There's bands playing in the tent from 1pm each day from the Thursday, with acts such as Overall competition winner Liz Green, as well as The Epstein (Acoustic Stage winner), The Grim Northern Social (John Peel category winner), Feluka (Jazz/World winner) and Dr Meaker (Dance category winner). From 2005 there are overall winners The Deadbeats as well as Epic’s new signing Scouting for Girls, and and from back in 2004 there's Hazah. This year’s runners up Venus Bogardus, The John E Vistic Experience, Cortina Deluxx, Onions, Thirty Pounds of Bone, Haiki Loki, Smallwhitelight, and The 9000 all get to play as well as The South West’s Battle of The Bands winner Pinstripe and tent promoters Concrete Recording's own protégés Orphan Boy.

There's also special appearances from Cherry Ghost, Gravenhurst, and Liam Frost, plus some bands they're keeping quiet about - but maybe eFestivals isn't: check out our rumours list for more acts to be found in this tent!

Glastonbury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June (with the gates opening on the Wednesday).
