Glastonbury 'emerging talent' finals
check out the bands!

Tue 13th Mar 07

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2007

Glastonbury Festival has named the finalists for their 'emerging talent' competition, where, unlike with other festivals, the winning bands get to play on the most prestigious stages and on the same bills as the biggest names, rather than on an 'unsigned stage'.

This year was the biggest competition to date, and the finalists will get to play in front of a panel of judges - including Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis - over three nights later this month, where the winners will be chosen. The winners then get to perform on the John Peel Stage, Acoustic Stage, JazzWorld Stage, and in the Dance Village at Glastonbury Festival 2007, with , one overall winner awarded a slot on the Other Stage at the festival, plus a BBC Radio One recording session at their Maida Vale studios.
(Please note that the organisers are very sorry but numbers are strictly limited and entry to this event is by invitation only.)

"New music has always been the lifeblood of the Festival," says Emily Eavis. "This has been our biggest competition ever, with some really exciting new music. And now that Radio One are becoming involved, the search for new talent will continue to grow and grow."

The finalists were as follows:-
The 9000
Baraka
Emily Barker and the Red Clay Halo
Breaking the Illusion
Cortina Deluxx
Dr Meaker
The Epstein
Feluka
Ghost
The John E Vistic Experience
Liz Green

Hadar
Haiki Loki
Heritage Survival Band
Mr Fogg
Polichinelle
Simon X
Smallwhitelight
The Soundcarriers
Speedway5
