Summer Sundae Weekender - which will take place in the grounds of De Montfort Hall, Leicester from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th August 2007 has announced the first acts for this year's festival.

The Magic Numbers are the first headlining band to be confirmed, with two more headliners still to be announced.

Also playing are Echo and the Bunnymen, The Pipettes, The Rumblestrips, Duke Special, Gruff Rhys, Kitty Daisy and Lewis, Tiny Dancers, The Whip, Cud, Broken Family Band, Ben Taylor, Richmond Fontaine, Soweto Kinch, and Findlay Brown. Many more acts including big names are still to come.

The festival started out as a one-day festival 6 years ago, has now grown 3-day music festival with camping and music on four stages plus the eFestivals Cabaret Tent.

Festival organisers Richard Haswell of De Montfort Hall and Rob Chalice of Coda said: "We’ve come a long way in six years and we intend to keep developing Summer Sundae Weekender to give the bands and audience even more of what they want. Members of the public and critics alike have praised the laid back, friendly atmosphere that we have managed to create with an eclectic programme of artists."

'Early Bird' tickets are on sale until Friday 9th March, priced at the bargain price of £75 for the three days - the price will increase after Friday!
