The twin-sited V Festival, which takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August have announced the first acts - around one quarter of the acts - for this year.

Announced as headliners are The Killers, and Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol co-headliners for the other night.

Also confirmed as playing are Kasabian, Pink, James, Basement Jaxx, The Kooks, Amy Winehouse, Manic Street Preachers, The Fratellis, Primal Scream, Damien Rice, Babyshambles, Happy Mondays, Paolo Nutini, Editors, KT Tunstall, Mika, James Morrison, Sophie Ellis Bextor, The Fray, The Proclaimers, and The Goo Goo Dolls. More acts will be announced over the coming weeks.

Tickets go on sale at 9am this coming Thursday 1st March. Tickets are priced at £130 for both days with camping, £110 for both days with no camping, or £63.50 for either day. We'll have links to buy when tickets are on sale - they're expected to sell out extremely quickly on Thursday, so don't hang about!

V Festival Director Bob Angus Comments: "Building the V Festival line up is without a doubt one of the best times of the year for us and securing The Killers and Foo Fighters - two of the biggest and best live bands - as headliners is a real achievement. In addition to these and the other great acts announced today, we’re building the momentum and are confident that it won’t be long before some more great names are announced. Watch this space!"
