Glastonbury hits the big screens

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2007

Glastonbury - The Film goes on general release today, and it's the only chance for people to experience the famous Glastonbury vibe this year.

Getting rave reviews - the only downside for some people is that it's a little long at two hours eight minutes - the film documents the Festival's history from 1970 using archive footage plus new material shot by director Julian Temple over the last few years, and features clips of performances from the likes of Morrissey, Coldplay, Levellers, Radiohead, David Bowie, Faithless, Billy Bragg, Chemical Brothers, Rolf Harris, Orbital, Pulp, and Velvet Underground, as well as covering other aspects of the Festival - including cleaning the Festival loos.

Like the Festival itself, there just aren't the words to describe it all - get yourself to your local cinema!

And if you're local to Bath, the near-legendary founder of the Glastonbury festival, Michael Eavis, is coming to the Little Theatre Cinema on Monday 17th April to present the 6pm showing. Michael will say a few words about the film and about the festival's history before taking questions from the audience on his unique life and contribution to British culture. For tickets to this event, which, like the festival itself, will be sold in aid of Greenpeace, please call the booking line on 08707 551 241 (9.30am - 8.30pm) or book online at www.picturehouses.co.uk.
