Creamfields has been granted a licence for its new site in Daresbury, Halton, Cheshire.

Halton Borough Council granted a licence at its Regulatory Committee meeting on Tuesday.

Cream Chief Executive James Barton said: “We are naturally delighted that our licence application has been successful. We were always confident in the strength of the application and we are now looking forward to putting on what will be a superb show. In addition, our team have unrivalled expertise and many years of experience in staging major outdoor events such as this and in ensuring the safety and well-being of all those attending, as well as those residents living nearby.”

Due to development work being carried out at the original Creamfields home at the old Liverpool Airport site in Speke the festival was forced to move. Daresbury estate was the favoured option for a new site in terms of scale, access and availability.

Creamfields has been welcomed by a cross section of the community with a recent independent survey of over 1,000 residents in Halton and Warrington showing that more than 90% were in favour of the event coming to Daresbury. There has also been a positive response from the local business community and from tourism leaders.

Creamfields takes place on Saturday 26th August (the Bank Holiday weekend).

Acts confirmed for the festival include The Prodigy, Goldfrapp, Gnarls Barkley and The Zutons all performing on the Main Stage, as well as the world's best DJs including Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Eddie Halliwell, Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Harry Choo Choo Romero, David Guetta, 2 Many DJs, Green Velvet, Plump DJs, Roger Sanchez, Timo Maas, Mylo (DJ set), Layo & Bushwacka!, Yousef, Hernan Cattaneo, with a live performance from X-Press 2, a live set from DJ Shadow, Andy C, DJ Marky & Dynamite MC, a live performance from Foreign Beggars, Tidy Boys, BK (live), Andy Farley, Rob Tissera, Lisa Pin-Up, Lee Haslam, Coldcut (live), Erol Alkan, and more.
