Pet Sounds Arena replaces X-Tent, plus more bands

Monday 10th April 2006

More acts have been confirmed for T in the Park, which takes place at Balado, nr Kinross in Scotland over the weekend of 8th/9th July, as well as a new stage.

Replacing the 2,000 capacity X-Tent is the new 8,000 capacity Pet Sounds Arena, named after the legendary Beach Boys album. Playing on this stage are the newly announced Corinne Bailey Rae, Death Cab For Cutie, Jose Gonzales, Animal Collective, and Regina Spektor, along with the previously confirmed Sigur Ros, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, and Eels.

Also new are Dirty Pretty Things, and We Are Scientists - both playing on the Radio 1/NME Stage on the Sunday, and for King Tut’s Tent are Greg Dulli and The Futureheads, who play Saturday and Sunday respectively.

They join the line-up that already includes headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Who, plus Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Hard Fi, The Proclaimers, Richard Ashcroft, Kaiser Chiefs, Sigur Ros, Primal Scream, The Ordinary Boys, Belle & Sebastian, The Charlatans, Placebo and more - click here for the full details to date. Many more acts will be confirmed over the coming weeks.
