so no ticket nightmare this year?
Glastonbury hopes so!

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2005

Tickets for this year’s Glastonbury Festival - taking place between the 24th – 26 June 2005 - will go on sale this coming Sunday, 3rd April 2005, at 9am, priced at £125.00 (plus £4 booking fee and P+P).

Tickets for Glastonbury Festival will only be available via www.aloud.com or by calling 0870 165 2005.
See here for detailed information about buying tickets, including information for overseas buyers.

Tickets will not be released to any other agents - any other agent offering tickets cannot provide you with a valid ticket!

As ever, it's expected that more people will want to go than there are tickets available, and so demand on the selling systems will be very high, and some people will unfortunately miss out.

But after last year's problems, major improvements have been made to the selling systems, and the hope is that sales should be smoother this year.

It's predicted - if everything goes to plan - that all of the tickets will sell out in seven hours. However, if the internet systems fail for some reason, then it wil take 30 hours for the tickets to sell via the telephone.

Improvements in the speed and capacity of the internet booking process mean that it is expected that the vast majority of tickets will be sold online.

For online bookings, the system is expected to cope with the demand (but until that demand happens, it's impossible to know for sure). When the booking system is full, people will be held outside the booking system and given a message saying the systems are busy, and to try later. Those who get through to the booking system should receive (this year, as didn't happen last year) an email confirming that the transaction has been successful. The system has been set up to accommodate internet applications over a seven hour period. Note that during the busiest periods the email confirmation may take up to 4 hours to be delivered.

There is double the capacity on the telephone booking system this year, and a minimum of 20,000 tickets will be sold via telephone, expected to take seven hours to sell. British Telecom has also assured Glastonbury Organisers that the problems faced by the telephone exchange last year will not be repeated.

We wish you all the very best of luck in securing your tickets, and we'll see you at Worthy Farm in June!
