Michael Eavis confirms more bands
plus: tickets to sell out in 6 hours

Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis was on Radio 2's Jonny Walker show yesterday evening, and he revealed a few more of the bands that will be at Worthy Farm in June.

He again mentioned Brian Wilson and Kylie, and also confirmed Van Morrison, The Undertones, and Elvis Costello.

Van Morrison makes his return after quite a few years absence, whilst The Undertones - responsible for John Peel's favourite track 'Teenage Kicks' - will no doubt play the stage named in his honour. Elvis Costello is likely to appear with his current band The Imposters.

He also stated that tickets will sell-out in just six hours this year. We presume that his confidence comes from the systems being in place to handle the expected demand for the 112,500 tickets within that time.

Whether this is a blessing for buyers remains to be seen. Last year's 24 hour ticket-a-thon was frustrating for those who had no success, but at least they had the opportunity in the following weeks to get tickets, as 'returns' (actually tickets that had been over-bought due to problems with the ticket-selling website confirming sales) became available to buy. If Michael's confidence isn't mis-placed, there's unlikely to be a second opportunity to buy this year.

Elsewhere, the latest bands to confirm themselves on their websites are Tom McCrae, and The Tears.
