Terry Reid to return to Glastonbury

Terry Reid - a 60's legend, who turned down the vocalist slot in Led Zeppelin (and recommended Robert Plant to Jimmy Page), who supported the likes of Cream and the Rolling Stones (Terry was at the infamous Altamont concert), and who in the early 70s released the classic 'River' - is to return to Glastonbury thirty-four years after his last appearance at the legendary Glastonbury Fayre in 1971.

Aretha Franklin once said that "There are only three things happening in London: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Terry Reid." Terry's career has seen him work with Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, The Replacements, Graham Nash, Elliot Easton (The Cars), Waddy Wachtel, Joe Walsh and Mick Taylor, and his songs have been recorded by the likes of The Hollies, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Cheap Trick and REO Speedwagon to name a few.

Terry's booking has come about through Glastonbury (town) resident Steve Mansbridge, who saw Terry perform in Los Angeles last summer, and then mentioned it when he bumped into Festival organiser Michael Eavis soon afterwards. According to Steve, "Michael is a Terry fan as well and immediately remembered his 1971 performance".

Steve suggested that Michael book him for this year, and having passed on Terry's management details to Michael, it's now going to happen.
