The first acts have been confirmed for the Nokia Urban Music Festival with The Prince’s Trust, being held at London's Earls Court on 16th/17th April.
The Saturday will feature Craig David, Estelle, Mitchell Brothers, Blak Twang, and Jamie Scott, while the Sunday will have Jay Sean, Terri Walker, Kano, Keisha White, Sway, and Kevin Mark Trail. More acts - including US and further UK artists - are due to be announced soon.
This year’s Urban Music Festival follows the success of last year's inaugural event, and is the largest urban music event the UK has seen. It will showcase international urban artists and rising stars from both sides of the Atlantic, alongside a host of MC’s, B-boys, music producers and streetdance crews from the UK.
As part of this year’s Festival, The Prince’s Trust - which offers practical solutions to help young people get their lives working - will be hosting workshops in breakdancing, MCing, beatboxing, music production and DJ skills as well as new for 2005 an Artist Advice workshop. The Nokia Urban Marketplace will feature businesses from urban clothing to music magazines, including a number of Prince’s Trust supported businesses to highlight the positive support offered by the youth charity.
