Glastonbury: licence application submitted
Wed 27th Oct 04

Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2005

Glastonbury Festival has submitted its Public Entertainments Licence application to Mendip District Council for a Festival in 2005, to take place from Friday 24th June until Sunday 26th June. As usual - providing the licence is granted and the Festival goes ahead - the gates are expected to open on Wednesday 22nd June.

The PEL application will be heard on Monday 6th December. As the only website that has reported the PEL hearings live for years, we'll again bring you as-it-happens updates of the process, and yet again be the first with news of that all important decision.

eFestivals has been led to believe that this application does not contain any change in numbers, and the Festival hopes again to be licenced for 150,000 attendees. We also understand that there are no big changes in other aspects, as 2004 was considered the best-run Glastonbury Festival to date.

Tickets are not yet on sale; any ticket agents claiming to be selling tickets at this time are being fraudulent in that claim, and people are advised to not waste their money with these agents, as they will not receive any official allocation of tickets.

Tickets are expected to go on sale around the beginning of April 2005 - we'll bring you the information when available. Any change to the way that ticketing might work for 2005 has not yet been decided.

It's currently not known who will headline the 2005 Festival. As is now usual, the official line-up announcement is expected after the tickets have been sold.
