Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2005

At this year's Glastonbury Festival, Nowhere Near the Garden won an opening slot in the New Tent via a competition with Sennheiser, manufacturers of electro-acoustic solutions (such as microphones).

Now on the Sennheiser website it's saying that Liverpool band Boa have won a similar competition this summer, winning prizes "which includes performing at Glastonbury 2005". We would presume that Boa will also play an opening slot in the New Tent.

Bands eFestivals expects at Glastonbury 2005 include Faithless and Keane, while it's also possible that Elbow, BlackBud, The Subways, and DBD will also play.

Meanwhile, Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis appeared on BBC1's Watchdog this week, in an item about ticket reseller getmetickets.net. The item showed that getmetickets.net made false claims about their ability to supply valid tickets for Glastonbury 2004 (which they offered at over double the face value).

It also showed them making deceptive claims about their (non!) relationship with Glastonbury Festival. They're already claiming to be able to supply tickets for Glastonbury Festival 2005, despite Michael stating that the Festival may not even happen next year, and tickets are certainly not yet on sale. (We do think that the Festival will happen in 2005, but until things like a Public Entertainment Licence are sorted, it cannot be certain to be going ahead).

As it has for the last seven summers, this website will continue to bring you the very best in news, information and insights for Glastonbury Festival 2005.
