Tue 17th Feb 04 Leeds Festival - which will take place at Bramham Park near Leeds over the Bank Holiday weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th August - has today had it's licence approved by the Leeds licensing committee at a hearing in Leeds Civic Centre. It returns to last year’s site at Bramham Park, where the 2003 event saw 50,000 festival goers per day enjoy three days of music over six stages. This year, the capacity per day is raised slightly, allowing 52,500 people per day to enjoy the festival. Melvin Benn M.D. of Mean Fiddler, promoters of the Leeds Festival said today: "This is fantastic news, no need for politics this year, no need for uncertainty, just total focus on what will be the greatest musical line-up of the year and the greatest festival this year." Pre-sale weekend tickets for this summer's Festival are available to buy now, priced at £105 for all three days and including camping (use the link on the left hand side of this page). No bands have been announced as yet - the first announcements are expected in April - but some rumours are available here. ![]() published: 17:07 (GMT)
