The Love Music Hate Racism/Unity Festival, which was planned for London's Finsbury Park on Sunday 6 June, has had to move indoors to Hammersmith Apollo, and possibly elsewhere too.

This has happened because as the profile of the event grew, so did the infrastructure costs. These would have had to include - at the insistence of the police - a double-skinned fence, so that the safety of those inside wouldn't be compromised by fence-jumpers.

Details of how to get free tickets for the event - which is expected to feature The Libertines, David Gray, The Stands, and more - should be on the LMHR website later today.

The event comes just four days before the London Assembly and Euro elections on Thursday 10 June in which the fascist BNP hope to win seats. The BNP are currently polling 5% of the vote in London, enough to get them a seat on the GLA. They need get only 10% in any Euro seat to get an MEP. But we can stop them. The event will see tens of thousands celebrating black and white unity against the racists and fascists and send a message out loud and clear - the BNP's not welcome here!
