Glastonbury Festival Glastonbury Festival 2004

Michael Eavis has announced that Glastonburty Festival is holding a competition for bands and musicians, with winners being offered a chance to play on one of the main stages at Glastonbury Festival 2004.

The Festival is normally overwelmed with demos from bands hoping to play. It's not always been possible to listen to them all of them, or arrange a slot for them even at one of the smaller Festival venues.

The competition is a unique opportunity for new and emerging acts to showcase their talent. It's to all musicians, be they solo artists or bands. Winners will get one of the reserved slots either on the Acoustic Stage, the Dance Tent, the New Tent, or the World Stage, with the overall winner appearing on the Other Stage.

The Festival's arranged for people to listen to three tracks from all applicants’ CDs – so every entry will be considered. Six acts will be selected for each slot and will play live at the Finals of the competition, to be held at the Pilton Working Men's Club in Somerset on 23rd, 24th, 30th April and 1st May 2004.

An entry form can be downloaded from the Festival website or obtained from the Glastonbury Festival Office at 28 Northload Street in Glastonbury – 01458 834596. All demos must be received before March 1st to be considered. There is a fee of £11.75 for each entry.

Good luck!
